BELIEVE IN U (BIU)
Jared Gourrier serves as Board Chair for Believe In U, bringing an educator’s perspective to the organization’s mission of supporting youth development. He began his career as an elementary school teacher with Atlanta Public Schools, where he worked closely with students navigating academic and social-emotional challenges. Jared helps guide the vision of Camp F.L.O., ensuring the program remains grounded in what truly works for students, schools and their surrounding communities

Darrin McCall, LCSW serves as Board Secretary while also supporting strategy and organizational development to help guide Believe In U’s long-term vision and impact. He currently serves as President of Youth Empowerment Project, providing executive leadership across education, mentoring, and workforce initiatives for opportunity youth. A licensed clinical social worker and W.K. Kellogg Foundation Community Leadership Network fellow, Darrin brings deep expertise in trauma-informed practice, youth development, and community-driven solutions that strengthen the mission of Believe In U and the growth of the flagship Camp F.L.O. program.

Andrew Meaders serves as Board Treasurer and brings a unique blend of legal expertise and classroom experience to the organization’s mission. A New Orleans attorney with Phelps Dunbar LLP, Andrew advises businesses on complex legal matters while remaining deeply connected to community impact. Before becoming an attorney, he spent nearly a decade teaching English, civics, and government at Frederick Douglass High School in New Orleans.

Jackie Hickman serves as a board member for Believe In U, where she supports the organization with strategic guidance and a strong commitment to expanding opportunities for young people in New Orleans. As a trial attorney, she represents clients in complex commercial and environmental litigation. Before entering the legal profession, Jackie spent six years teaching middle school science and social studies in New Orleans, helping launch one of the city’s leading public charter schools. She holds a law degree and remains deeply engaged in civic and professional leadership across the region.

Kendall T. Crawford brings a strong commitment to youth development and student leadership in New Orleans. He currently serves as Director of Student Affairs and External Engagement at St. Augustine High School, where he leads student programs, strategic initiatives, and experiential learning opportunities that connect students with real-world experiences. A New Orleans native and St. Augustine alumnus, Kendall is also a graduate of Dillard University. His work focuses on helping young people build leadership, purpose, and meaningful connections to their community
